Building

The Sirius Building is named after the ship of the same name, which was part of the First Fleet that arrived in Botany Bay in 1788. This naming not only highlights the historical significance of the 'Phillip' name in Australian history but also pays tribute to the building's location in the suburb of Phillip

The underlying design concept of the building reflects this heritage, with its elements, materials, colours, and textures creating a subliminal and emotional connection to the great wooden ships of that era.

The building, designed to accommodate nearly 3,000 Department of Health staff, comprises 45,000 m² of office space across two contiguous towers facing Furzer and Worgan Streets, centred on Scarborough House in Phillip, ACT. It aims to achieve a 4.5-star ABGR rating and a 5-star Green Star rating, featuring an environmentally responsive façade and energy-efficient services.
